IT'S A GIRL! Sofia Coppola has given birth to her first child, a daughter named Romy, the filmmaker's spokesman, Robert Garlock, confirmed Wednesday. The baby was born Tuesday in Paris to Coppola and her boyfriend, Thomas Mars, singer for the French rock band Phoenix, Garlock said. "Mother, father and daughter are all doing well," he told The Associated Press. Coppola, 35, is the daughter of Oscar-winning director Francis Ford Coppola. She won a best screenplay Oscar for 2003's Lost in Translation, which she also directed. Her latest film, Marie Antoinette, stars Kirsten Dunst as the 18th-century French queen. Phoenix's critically acclaimed third studio album, "It's Never Been Like That," was released in May. Coppola was married to director Spike Jonze for four years before filing for divorce in 2003.
