Andy Roddick's Back

The first Grand Slam event of the season got off to a very dramatic start today at the Australian Open. Andy Roddick is back and playing better than ever. Roddick beat No. 1 Roger Federer in the eight-man exhibition tournament, the Kooyong Classic, in Melbourne just two days ago. This was Andy’s first win over Roger in over three years. And who can forget his spectacular performance at the 2006 US Open.

Andy found himself down a set against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France after losing the first in a breath taking tie breaker. Roddick then found himself down, 2-5, in the second set before he came back and closed out the match, 6-7 (18), 7-6 (2), 6-3, 6-3.

We never cover sports here at The Hollywood Bureau, however, we are very impressed with Andy, and not only on the court – Roddick’s charitable work to raise money for various children charities in Texas and Florida proves that this ace has substance that carries him way beyond the tennis court.
