Jon & Kate File For Divorce

Jon and Kate Gosselin have filed for divorce.

The initial documents were filed at the Bucks County Courthouse this afternoon, coinciding with tonight's special episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8. Trailers for the show have indicated the husband and wife of ten years have an important announcement to make about the future of their marriage. The Gosselins' marriage has long been fraught with tension - at least according to the reality presented by the show that documents the raising of their eight children. Rumors of an impending divorce began circulating in May, when a 23-year-old woman named Deanna Hummel was photographed driving Jon's car. Hummel's brother claimed Deanna and Jon were engaged in a full-blown affair, while both Jon and Deanna denied his report.

On the premiere of the fifth season last month, Kate confessed, "Parents of multiples have triple the divorce rate. I was thinking we were going to beat that. I don't know if I can say that anymore."
