BUREAU FASHION: Michael Kors
By Penny Patterson
Michael Kors is one of my favorite designers, he seems to “get it right” every time, and he has been on a career “high” lately. He picked up the CFDA's Lifetime Achievement Award in June, his company is expected to break the $1 billion in sales this year, and there is a lot of buzz that the star judge of Project Runway may be getting his own TV show. The show began with Kor’s serene white: a gauzy long-sleeve T-shirt over a leg-baring sarong for her, a matching linen suit and tank for him. Kors use of linen and gauze are always divine, the “look” and “feel” are heavenly.Other favorites were the pantsuits for both women and men, relaxed-luxe with shirts that were worn untucked and large oversized cardigans with Kor’s signature sandals. I loved the tunic dresses and the use of cashmere in the tank dresses. The evening wear was simplistic but still sophisticated with draped silk jersey in bright spring colors
I simply love Michael Kors; he is the quintessential American designer that designs clothes solely for the women and man that feels the thrill and simplicity in wearing the clothes. In my opinion he is one of the all-time greats – an absolute staple.
