Meet Mr. Brooks

MGM has provided The Hollywood Bureau with a first look at the Mr. Brooks movie poster.

Consider Mr. Brooks. A successful businessman, a generous philanthropist, a loving father and devoted husband. Seemingly, he's perfect. But Mr. Brooks has a secret -- he is an insatiable serial killer, so lethally clever that no one has ever suspected him -- until now.

The film will be released in theatres on June 1, 2007 and stars Kevin Costner, William Hurt, Demi Moore, Dane Cook, Marg Helgenberger, Rubin Santiago-Hudson and Danielle Panabaker.
American imports David and Victoria Beckham arrived at the Sport Industry Awards in London today with seemingly matching hairdos. While Victoria was rocking a chic blonde bob, her hubby had a very similar version with highlights.

Filming of Warner Bros.' Fool's Gold, starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, has been halted at Fraser Island, Australia after a deadly species of jellyfish was discovered there. A scene in the film was to have featured the actors swimming off the island. "You cannot say the waters around Fraser Island are jellyfish safe," Dr. Jamie Seymour of James Cook University, told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. "I mean, these animals have the potential to kill you." The irukandji jellyfish are only thumbnail sized but are regarded as one of the world's most toxic creatures. Their sudden discovery around Fraser Island was being blamed on global warming.

It was a bipartisan celebrity event today as parties from both sides took a short break from the Iraq War funding debate to unite behind an offensive in a different kind of war. Rock-n-roll diva and breast cancer survivor Sheryl Crow appeared with Sen. Hillary Clinton to lobby for the Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act. The bill authorizes $40 million per year to fund research on possible links between breast cancer and the environment.
Rob Lowe is joining the cast of ABC's Brothers & Sisters as a full-fledged cast member next season. Since Lowe joined the sudser earlier this year, the show has seen its Nielsen results increase, notes Variety; it has recently scored a second-season order from the network. Lowe plays conservative Sen. Robert McCallister, a romantic foil to Calista Flockhart’s character. He was originally slated to guest star in just a handful of episodes. But his first appearance on Brothers & Sisters last November matched the show's series high in adults 18-49, and he ultimately signed on for the full season as a 'special guest star.'

GRINDHOUSE Premiere

Grindhouse director Quentin Tarantino celebrated his 44th birthday with a cake presented by femme fatales Rose McGowan, Rosario Dawson and Marley Shelton at last night’s premiere of the highly anticipated double feature film helmed by Tarantino and his good friend Robert Rodriguez. Earlier on the Orpheum Theatre stage, executive producers Bob and Harvey Weinstein thanked the directors for following them to The Weinstein Co. after the brothers' ugly 2005 split from Disney. But the celebration was not without mishap. Just before the star arrivals, a water main break flooded the red carpet, causing Tarantino to fret about ruining his "groovy" black boots. "I'm glad they fixed that," he said.

Opening April 6, Grindhouse is actually a double bill of Rodriguez's sicko zombie flick, Planet Terror, and Tarantino's road rage revenge tale, Death Proof. Homages to low-budget '70s exploitation fare, the films are tied together by movie trailers for such fictitious features as Don't! and Werewolf Women of the S.S. "Two movies for the price of one," noted Rodriguez, differentiating the film from Tarantino's Kill Bill, Vols. 1 and 2, which Rodriguez joked were actually "one movie for the price of two."

Angelina Jolie: A Voice for the Victims

UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie recently concluded a two-day trip to a refugee camp in eastern Chad that houses refugees from Sudan’s war-torn Darfur region, praising humanitarian workers for their tireless efforts in providing assistance while calling for more aid to those in need. Angelina hopes her visit will help focus the world's attention on the war in Darfur and the plight of the refugees. "If I can draw you in a little because I'm familiar, then that's great," she told Newsweek's Middle East Regional Editor Christopher Dickey after she came back from her visit to the Oure Cassoni camp. "Because I know that at the end you're not looking at me, you're looking at them." Well ...... "As long as [you] end up looking at them, that's the point." Jolie's response to critics who call what she does "celebrity tourism" is matter-of-fact: "I don't know if anybody saying that has spent the last six years of their life going to over 30 camps and really spending time with these people."

300

The day has finally arrived -- 300 hits theaters and IMAX. This brilliant film is one of the most anticipated films of 2007.

300 is an adaptation of Frank Miller's epic graphic novel. Using hyper-real renderings similar to Miller's own graphically stylized illustrations, the film tells the true story of 300 elite Spartan warriors led by their fearless king Leonidas (Butler), who thwart the charge of Xerxes and his massive Persian army at the battle of Thermopylae. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian foe, leading to the origins of democracy. http://www.300themovie.com

Elizabeth Hurley Weds Arun Nayar

Elizabeth Hurley says “I do” to long time beaux Arun Nayar. Liz was absolutely radiant in a traditional white chiffon gown designed by pal Donatella Versace, complemented by a bouquet of Lily of the Valley and a sparkling Chopard diamond tiara.

Newlyweds Elizabeth Hurley and Arun Nayar were all smiles as they arrived at a private dinner reception in Mumbai yesterday. Sixty close friends and relatives traveled with the supermodel and her businessman hubby from Britain to attend the party in the country's financial capital, with some guests enjoying a yacht ride around the city. The guest list included A-listers Elton John, Tom Ford, Valentino, Eva Herzigova, Prince Pavlos of Greece, his wife Marie-Chantal and many more.
The couple, who were married on Friday in a private civil ceremony at Sudeley Castle west of London, have another week of festivities in Arun's native India before tying the knot again on Saturday (for the third time) at the lavish Umaid Bhavan Palace in Jodhpur.

Celebrity Sightings

Grey's Anatomy stunner Katherine Heigl spent her weekend reaping some of the benefits of her newfound stardom by posing on a private yacht for an upcoming ad campaign for Nautica. The 28-year-old actress appeared to be in good spirits despite last week's much publicized contract renegotiations that nearly had her leaving the show. As you may recall, Dr. Izzie issued a statement stating she was "embarrassed" about the public dispute and had been treated with disrespect by her TV bosses.

Rocking a Pucci dress and Christian Louboutin pumps, Nicole Richie had nothing to say when paparazzi asked about her most recent stint at the hospital. The starlet was spotted en route to Beverly Hills eatery Mr. Chow on Saturday with beau Joel Madden.

Tom Cruise took wife Katie Holmes and baby Suri to watch his son Conner's basketball game at Beverly Hills High yesterday.
Angelina Jolie spent much of last week on a difficult but successful trip to Chad as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR to aid refugees displaced by the strife in Darfur. In her absence, Brad played the role of proud Mr. Mom to the couple's three beautiful children. Brad and Angelina reunited with her family this weekend at their New Orleans estate. After a quick trip to the bakery for some sweets, they were seen playing with children Shiloh and Zahara at a local park. Rumors are flying that Brad and Angelina are about to adopt another child from Vietnam.

Furthering their status as the modern-day Latino version of Sonny and Cher, power couple Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez took the stage once again at last night's 106.7 Viva Romance Concert in Miami. Dressed in a hot outfit with a full head of hair extensions, J.Lo gave the throng of fans a sample of her upcoming Spanish album, 'Como Ama Una Mujer', and finished the night off with an encore of one of her first hits, Waiting for Tonight.

According to fan site www.danradcliffe.co.uk, which professes to be "an endorsed and recognized" (by the actor) website, Daniel Radcliffe has signed for the last two Harry Potter movies, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:

"I am pleased to inform you that it has been confirmed for us by Dan's Publicist that Dan has, in fact, signed on for the last two Harry Potter films. Dan will begin filming in September on "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince". He has also signed on to return and reprise his role as Harry in the very last film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. This will "mark a place" in history for Dan and fulfill his wishes as he stated more than three years ago that he would like to portray "Harry" in all of the films. As you know, it had been speculated in the media that Dan may not return to reprise the role of Harry after it had been published by several media outlets that Warner Bros. were upset with Dan's latest career choice in EQUUS. Warner Brothers quickly put that speculation to rest, and published an official press release confirming they were completely supportive of Dan's projects."

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (aka Harry Potter 5) arrives in conventional theaters and IMAX on July 13th, 2007.
