Lady Gaga: Bisexuality & Cocaine

Lady Gaga has hinted at her bisexuality many a time the famously androgynous singer even admitted her hit single "Poker Face" was about thinking about a woman while in bed with a man. In the June issue of Rolling Stone, Gaga (born Stefani Joanne Germanotta) says she's definitely into the ladies - but it's a purely physical thing. And it freaks out her boyfriends:

“The fact that I'm into women; they're all intimidated by it. It makes them uncomfortable. They're like, 'I don't need to have a threesome. I'm happy with just you.”

Gaga is currently in a relationship with a guy, but she considers music her greatest love, for the time being. "My music's not going to wake up tomorrow morning and tell me it doesn't love me anymore. So I'm content with my solitude. I'm okay with being alone. I choose to have someone in my life when I can."
Lady Gaga has recently talked about almost being arrested for some of her seriously skimpy outfits, but back when she was writing many of the tracks for her first album, she had a bigger reason to worry about the cops. Namely, she was doing just a ton of cocaine. Gaga revealed that the creative impetus behind her song "Beautiful Dirty Rich" was staying up for 72 hours on blow and writing songs.

“It’s from my coke years. 2005 was where it began, and I thought I was gonna die. I never really did the drugs for the high — it was more the romanticism of Andy Warhol and Mick Jagger and all the artists that I loved. I wanted to be them, and I wanted to live their life, and I wanted to understand the way that they saw things and how they arrived at their art. And I believed the only way I could do this was to live the lifestyle, and so I did. So it wasn’t about getting high — it was about being an artist. About waking up in the morning at 10:30 and doing a bunch of lines and writing a bunch of music, and staying up for three days on a creative whirlwind and then panic-attacking for a week after. It was one of the most difficult times in my life, but it was important for me to experience, since it unlocked parts of my brain. But I wouldn’t encourage people to do it for that reason — you can arrive at all those things on your own.”

Donnatella Versace in Interview Magazine

Donatella Versace is interviewed by the fabulous Mr. Lenny Kravitz in this month's issue of Interview, shedding light on her personal style (she began wearing miniskirts and patent-leather boots at age 11, and hasn't stopped), her most treasured clothing item (a black metal-mesh evening dress), and sex.

Donatella says the idea of sex comes to her while she's creating her clothes:

I think that's instinctive, that it comes naturally. I don't think about making sexy clothes. It's just my instinct to make them. [laughs] It comes to me when I'm working. I think sex is part of life, like eating and breathing. Obviously you think of sexy in a different way than you did in the mid- '80s or early '90s. We didn't strive to make sexy clothes then either, because you didn't want to say out loud, 'This is a sexy outfit.' You wanted to express that in either a more innocent way or a more sophisticated way. But you always want to feel sexy. You want people to look at you and say, 'Wow.'

Don't expect Donatella to play into the '80s revival that's currently taking the runways by storm (ahem, Marc Jacobs).

Versace has been there and done that. What's more, she doesn't think it makes sense in the context of today:

I knew that trend was coming. I knew exactly when every designer was going to start doing it. And I couldn't, because I was with Gianni doing the '80s, in the '80s. I have so many pieces in the archives that I could put right out on the runway and they'd be perfect. [laughs] In general, I think, yes, we can look back, but not that much. It's too literal. Like shoulder pads. We belonged to that time -- but for me, it doesn't make sense today. You can play with it for one season, but it's not going to be revolutionary. I think we should move forward, not back. To define the era we live in is very difficult...we define it by music...Fashion is struggling to define itself today.Versace went on to say that music is her greatest influence. And you'll never guess which band she name-checks: Metallica.

The TWITTER Saga: Ashton & Demi

So…….it all started when we ran into Ashton & Demi at the SUNDANCE Film Festival in January – Ashton was excited to tell us about his new found love – recording his life and adventures for the………you guessed it -- the new micro-blogging site TWITTER. Now it appears that Ashton -- Twitter's top tweeter -- warned he may pull the plug on his tweeting if TWITTER execs partner with a reality TV show. And just when things had gotten really interesting........over the holiday weekend Demi Moore posted a re-Tweet (a link to a post someone else made) of a photo of herself in a dentist chair missing a tooth.

We absolutely LOVE Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. The Hollywood Bureau has had a front row seat the last six months where we have been privileged to watch them become the matriarch and patriarch of America’s newest obsession-of-the moment -- TWITTER. These two A-list celebrities have embraced this new phenomenon in a major way proving the power of social networks in today’s media landscape.

And what is TWITTER for you that have been living under a rock: basically in a 140-characters or less users are prompted to communicate “tweet” and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: “What are you doing?”
Back at SUNDANCE Ashton told us where we could watch the videos and then he was off..... flying from SUNDANCE to Washington D.C. where he and Demi were to attend the inauguration. We have to admit we have become a little obsessed. We have been very voyeuristic in watching Ashton's videos religiously for months now.

Then Ashton challenged CNN to a dual to see who could obtain 1 Million followers and if he won he would “ding-dong ditch" CNN founder Ted Turner's house. "I found it astonishing that one person that can actually have as big of a voice online as what an entire media company can on Twitter," Kutcher says in a video.

No single Twitter account had attracted 1 million followers, according to TwitterCounter and Twitterholic, two sites that track the most popular Twitter users. "So I just thought that was just kind of an amazing comment on the state of our media, and I said that, if I beat CNN to 1 million viewers, then I would ding-dong ditch Ted Turner -- because I don't think it's gonna happen."
Well, guess what…………ASHTON WON!!!!

Now for the latest.......... Variety magazine reported Monday that San Francisco-based Twitter.com had partnered with TV producers Reveille and Brillstein Entertainment on an unscripted show that would be “putting ordinary people on the trail of celebrities in a revolutionary competitive format.” Twitter co-founder Biz Stone said there was “no official Twitter TV show” in the works, but “we have a lightweight, non-exclusive, agreement with the producers which helps them move forward more freely.”

Kutcher used Twitter to post a link to a news report about the partnership along with this message: “Wow I hope this isn’t true. I really don’t like being sold out. May have to take a twitter hiatus.” Ashton is holds the record of 2 million Twitter followers. “It’s all fun and games until somebody gets stalked,” Kutcher wrote in a Twitter posting late Monday.

Demi has also threatened to shut down her Twitter account, which has more than 1 million followers as well. “I hope this isn’t true—if it is, our Twitter time may come to a quick and sad end!” Moore tweeted Monday.

Stone, who started Twitter just three years ago with co-founder Jack Dorsey, published a blog Monday saying that Twitter is “very open” and that “openness is not limited to the Web or even to mobile phones.”

“In dealing with networks and production companies we sometimes have simple agreements,” Stone wrote. “Regarding the Reveille and Brillstein project reported today, we have a lightweight, non-exclusive, agreement with the producers which helps them move forward more freely.”

And, he wrote, “Twitter’s open approach might have the power to transform television—the dominant communications receiver worldwide. We’re very excited to see where these experiments take us.”

Madonna's Boy Toy Shops for Jewelry

Jesus Luz went shopping for Kabbalah jewelry at Lea and Esther Nigri in Ipanema yesterday in the afternoon. Even though gossip sites report that the store was closed exclusively for Jesus, it seems that a few paparazzi were allowed in to document the entire shopping spree.
The Hollywood Bureau is wondering if he is going to be hitting the runways for any Brazilian labels at the spring shows next month.

The White Ribbon Wins Cannes

French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg poses with the Best Actress award she received for the film 'Antichrist' during the awards ceremony during the 62nd International film festival in Cannes, southern France

Austrian director Michael Haneke’s somber drama The White Ribbon claimed the top prize Sunday at Cannes, where Quentin Tarantino and Lars von Trier entries earned the acting honors. It was a big night for Austria, whose triumphs included Christoph Waltz as best actor for Tarantino's World War II epic Inglourious Basterds. Charlotte Gainsbourg won the best-actress honor for von Trier's Antichrist, a film that riled and repelled many Cannes viewers with its explicit images of physical abuse involving a grieving couple.

Waltz earned the best-actor award for his gleefully homicidal role as Nazi Col. Hans Landa, renowned in Germany as an ace ''Jew hunter'' in Inglourious Basterds, Tarantino's rewrite of the history books that follows the exploits of a band of Jewish Allied commandos led by Brad Pitt.

The nine-member Cannes jury headed by French actress Isabelle Huppert, which included actresses Robin Wright Penn and Asia Argento and director James Gray, presented a special award to beloved French director Alain Resnaiss, who was in the competition with the offbeat tale Wild Grass. The film follows the odd relationships that spring up after a married man forges a relationship with a woman whose stolen wallet he recovers.

The directing award went to Filipino filmmaker Brillante Mendoza for Kinatay, a harsh story centered on police inflicting bloody retribution on a prostitute who crossed them.
Chinese director Lou Ye’s Spring Fever, a tale of forbidden romance involving homosexual relationships, won the screenplay award for writer Feng Mei.

The prize for best first film went to Australian writer-director Warwick Thornton for Samson and Delilah, his love story about two teens living in an isolated aboriginal community.

New Pics of Heath Ledger

New photos of Heath Ledger and the rest of the cast have popped up online from Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassuss. This was Ledger's last film and some of the last known images of the actor before his untimely death last January.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is a fantastical morality tale, set in the present day. It tells the story of Dr Parnassus and his extraordinary ‘Imaginarium’, a traveling show where members of the audience get an irresistible opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom. Blessed with the extraordinary gift of guiding the imaginations of others, Dr Parnassus is cursed with a dark secret. Long ago he made a bet with the devil, Mr. Nick, in which he won immortality. Many centuries later, on meeting his one true love, Dr Parnassus made another deal with the devil, trading his immortality for youth, on condition that when his first-born reached its 16th birthday he or she would become the property of Mr. Nick. Valentina is now rapidly approaching this ‘coming of age’ milestone and Dr Parnassus is desperate to protect her from her impending fate. Mr. Nick arrives to collect but, always keen to make a bet, renegotiates the wager. Now the winner of Valentina will be determined by whoever seduces the first five souls. Enlisting a series of wild, comical and compelling characters in his journey, Dr Parnassus promises his daughter’s hand in marriage to the man that helps him win. In this captivating, explosive and wonderfully imaginative race against time, Dr Parnassus must fight to save his daughter in a never-ending landscape of surreal obstacles - and undo the mistakes of his past once and for all...

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is still set for release in 2009 and stars Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Colin Farrell, Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits and Verne Troyer.

A TOP SECRET meeting of the world’s uber-billionaires took place to discuss the global financial crisis. The meeting was coordinated by Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire-Hathaway; Bill Gates, co founder of Microsoft; and David Rockefeller Jr., chairman of Rockefeller Financial Services. The clandestine meeting was held in the President’s Room at Rockefeller University in New York City at 3 p.m. on May 5th. Gates and Buffett were joined by billionaire moguls Oprah Winfrey, Ted Turner and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg along with heavyweight philanthropist George Soros. This gathering of the powerful elite was strategically left off each of their public schedules and hidden from the world press corp—sending conspiracy theorists into a feeding frenzy. Attendees told ABC News.com the meeting was “100 percent about philanthropy.”
In a personally written letter of invitation that was hand delivered to each billionaire, Gates, Buffett and Rockefeller cited, "the worldwide recession and the urgent need to plan for the future. They said they wanted to hear the views of a broad range of key leaders in the financial and philanthropic fields.” Each attendee was given 15 minutes to deliver a presentation on how they saw the future global economic climate, the future priorities for philanthropy, and what they felt the elite group should do.
According to one of the attendees, Bill Gates was the most-impressive speaker of the day, with Ted Turner the most-outspoken and Warren Buffet the most-insistent on his agenda for change. Oprah Winfrey was said to be in a “listening mode.”
Gates was worth an estimated $57B in 2008; more recently, Buffett clocked in at an estimated $37B—making them the richest Americans. Together the moguls have donated over $70 billion to charity since 1996, according to the Chronicle of Philanthropy.

Cameron's New Man?

Cameron Diaz just split with model Paul Sculfor earlier this month, but according to X17 Online, she's already found a new man to fill his shoes: Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine. The gossip site has pictures of the two celebs out for lunch at the Chateau Marmont, where they apparently arrived separately, stayed for just over an hour, and left separately. And there was no kissing. According to one of the site's photographers, the couple was in good spirits.

"They looked really excited to be together. It didn't seem like the first time they met - they were comfortable with each other. Cameron was laughing at all of Adam's jokes and they seemed like such a perfect match. They were even dressed alike!"

White T-shirts and jeans: uncanny. Another photographer confirmed the rendezvous, which is starting to sound more and more like a publicity stunt. He said, "Cameron was unusually happy and she almost WANTED to be seen with Adam. They were drawing attention to themselves in the hotel, trying to get people to look at them."Let's put it this way: No one goes on a first date at the Chateau Marmont thinking there will be privacy. Still, these two are no strangers to dating in the public eye. Cameron's been linked to Matt Dillon, Jared Leto and of course, Justin Timberlake, while Adam once dated Jessica Simpson.

Dollhouse Renewed?

Inside information indicates that Fox executives are leaning towards picking up the Joss Whedon series Dollhouse for a second season. The series was one of the biggest bubble series, and it was revealed recently that the show was still in contention for a renewal, but the high cost of the show was to be the determining factor. The decision could in fact change before the network’s upfront presentation on Monday, but, for now, it seems the network is in favor of renewing the series. The site also reported that NBC bubble series Chuck “almost certainly” will be renewed as well.

The Vatican Warms Up to Angels & Demons

In an attempt to avoid the controversy caused by The Da Vinci Code, the prequel film Angels & Demons has officially received a warm welcome from the Vatican. After its world premiere in Rome, a review ran in L’Osservatore Romano (the Vatican’s official newspaper) highlighting some of the film’s faults but also often praising its direction, setting, and entertainment value.

"The theme is always the same in both novels: a sect versus the church, even though the parts of the good and the bad are distributed differently," L'Osservatore wrote Wednesday. "This time, with Angels & Demons, the church is on the side of the good guys." The paper blasted the plot’s “stereotyped characters” but called the movie ”a gigantic and smart commercial operation" with “magnificent” reconstructions of landmarks like St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel (the Catholic Church banned any filming at the original locations).
The paper went on to say that Angels & Demons was like "a videogame that first of all sparks curiosity and is also, maybe, a bit of fun," hardly something that could affect “the genius and mystery of Christianity."

Church officials were strongly opposed to the first film since it centered on the idea that Jesus was married and had children. It also depicted Opus Dei - an existing conservative Catholic movement - as a murderous cult. The second film has Tom Hanks returning as Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, helping the Vatican after a ancient secret brotherhood kidnaps four cardinals who are front-runners to be the next pope and threatens to kill one an hour before bombing the Vatican.

New Moon Poster

Monday, May 11, 2009

Supermodel Stephanie Seymour and her husband, Peter Brant, are headed for divorce, the NY Post reports. After sixteen years of marriage and three children together, the top model has reportedly moved into the maid's quarters of their Greenwich, Connecticut mansion.

Seymour apparently filed for divorce two months ago. In 1994, she told People magazine of Brant, "He's strong, intelligent, sensitive, and very masculine." Brant, the owner of Interview and Art in America magazines, was still technically married to his estranged first wife at the time.

Seymour reportedly told a friend, "It's OK. I'm sleeping in the maid's quarters. I'm doing the best I can to keep things amicable. I want to be the bigger person. But it's tough. He's playing very dirty with me."Brant is apparently challenging Seymour for custody of their children - Peter Jr., 15, Harry, 12, and Lilly, 4. He has accused the model of being an unfit mother.

CONAN

While it was just announced that one director was off an upcoming remake, it seems another is already in line to take his place. James McTeigue (V For Vendetta, upcoming Ninja Assassin) is in talks to direct Conan.

It was reported late last week that director Brett Ratner was no longer attached to the project, and it seems that McTeigue is now the top choice to replace Ratner. A deal has not yet been finalized, but talks are in place. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any other developments surrounding the Conan remake as soon as we have more information.

Lance Reveals Secrets of Break-up

Musician Sheryl Crow and bicyclist Lance Armstrong arrive at the GQ 2005 Men Of The Year Awards at Mr. Chow Beverly Hills on December 1, 2005 in Beverly Hills, California. (Getty Images)

In a new book, Lance, coming out this summer, Lance Armstrong finally spills the beans on what drove he and Sheryl Crow apart. Armstrong says that Crow, who is nearly ten years his senior, really wanted to have children, and he was reluctant to become a father again. After an early preview of the book, The New York Post posted the following quotes:

"She wanted marriage, she wanted children; and not that I didn't want that, but I didn't want that at that time because I had just gotten out of a marriage, I'd just had kids. Yet we're up against her biological clock -- that pressure is what cracked it. Because if somebody wants a child -- man, that's the greatest gift you can give to a woman -- so who are you to stand there and say I don't want one. So we were at different points in our lives. We were not compatible on that issue. I felt like I wasn't ready . . . I would have been in the future, but not then. "

Crow and Armstrong dated from 2003 through 2006. In 2007, Crow decided to adopt a two-week old infant, which she named, Wyatt Steven Crow. Armstrong, meanwhile, is expecting a child with current girlfriend Anna Hansen, due sometime in June.

Green Lantern

Insiders reported to the Bureau that Bradley Cooper was in talks to play Hal Jordan in Green Lantern; there are a couple of other names who are still reported to be in the running for the role. Sources say that Shawn Roberts (I Love You, Beth Cooper, Diary of the Dead) is also up for the part.

Apparently Roberts has auditioned repeatedly for the part, and has taken meetings with Campbell concerning playing Hal Jordan. Roberts has just finished working with Campbell in Edge of Darkness. Also, Brian Austin Green's name keeps coming up for the role. And while Green is an older candidate than the studio is reportedly looking for, it can't be denied that he looks the part. Green has not only auditioned, but has even done screen tests while wearing the mask.

Green Lantern is scheduled to hit theaters December 17, 2010 from Warner Brothers Pictures. Martin Campbell is set to direct the film from a script written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green.
